Hello everyone! I’m so excited to share with you all a free brand new blanket pattern, I am in the Love of Texture Afghan. It seems like forever since I last shared a post about a blanket, so I’m excited to change things up a bit and restore some balance to the blog. This beautifully multi textured crochet afghan combines single crochet, half double crochet, and puff stitch techniques to craft a truly unique blanket that stands out in any space. You’ll definitely enjoy the playful color combinations that keep things exciting while you crochet. I know you guys also love crochet as much as i do so let’s begin.

Perfect inspiration for the For the Love of Texture Afghan

So, here’s the thing I started off this blanket project more than a year and a half ago, and honestly, I didn’t really have a clear idea for it when I crocheted that very first panel. I experimented with a variety of stitches until I found a look that I absolutely loved! I managed to complete the first three panels of my blanket before life threw a bunch of distractions my way. Isn’t it funny how life always seems to interrupt our crochet sessions?

So, this blanket ended up on the back burner and tucked away in the closet, until I started it again during quarantine. Even though the isolation hasn’t been ideal, I have to say it’s provided me with plenty of time to dive into my crochet projects.

Measurements of pattern

The For the Love of Texture Afghan comes in at 45″ x 53″, which is a tad on the short side for typical throws (I unfortunately ran out of yarn). Want to extend the length of your multi-textured crochet afghan? Check out the adjustment instructions below for a simple guide! This blanket’s dimensions are just perfect for a cozy lapghan or a charming small throw. It’s all about that ideal size for snuggling up!

Dimensions: 45 inches wide and 53 inches long.

Customize Size Of Your Blanket

The width of your blanket really comes down to the starting chain you create. If you’re diving into this pattern, you’ll start by chaining 137. But hey, if you’re looking to put your own spin on it and adjust the width of your blanket—whether you want it shorter or longer—just remember that your chain needs to be a multiple of 10 plus 7. Happy crafting!

If you want to adjust the length of your blanket, simply keep repeating Rows 7 to 18 until you reach the perfect size that makes you happy! Next, wrap up the blanket by completing Rows 115 to 123.
