The Top 10 Cozy Mobile Games to Play for Free
Updated on December 11th, 2024
As a follow-up to my 25 Best Cozy Games to Play on PC and Consoles post, I wanted to share the top 10 cozy mobile games that I recommend playing. Also, all the games are free to download and play, and there are no constant pop-up ads. However, you can often watch ads for bonuses in the games and there are paid features, but it is definitely not necessary to spend any money on the games to have fun.
The Top 10 Cozy Mobile Games
#1 Boba Story
In Boba Story, you run a bubble tea shop. You customize your menu with different drinks and ingredients and take orders from the customers. Occasionally, you can do mini-games to earn more money from the orders such as catching ingredients in the cup or making a bubble that is the same size as the bubble shown. Furthermore, you can customize your shop with different furniture, hire staff to help you out, complete daily to-go orders, and unlock a garden area with bees. I love bubble tea, and I especially love being able to make a custom menu.
#2 Cats & Soup
Cats & Soup is a cozy idle game where cats make soup and the more soup they make, the more money you earn that you can use to unlock more areas and cats. Since it is an idle game, there is not a lot of active gameplay, but it is perfect if you want a game that you can pop in and out of.
#3 An Elmwood Trail
An Elmwood Trail is an interactive text-based mystery game where you investigate the disappearance of 18-year-old Zoey in the town of Riverstone. You interact with various characters through the phone, solve puzzles, and more to find out what happened to her. Furthermore, there is a hint system in-game if you do get stuck on the puzzles along with a task list to help you with what to do next. It is a fun and unique game, and there are currently 2 episodes available to play through with episode 3 releasing soon. They also added the mini-game Symmetry that you can play while waiting for the next episode where you have to mirror the shape by moving the blocks.
#4 Good Pizza, Great Pizza
Good Pizza, Great Pizza is a paid game on Steam and the Nintendo Switch, but they have a free mobile version as well. Out of all these games, I will say Good Pizza, Great Pizza is my favorite. In the game, you run a pizza shop, take customers’ orders, and make the pizza with their requested ingredients. There are daily quests to complete in the game as well as quest lines when you unlock new ingredients and quest lines with various characters who show up at your shop. Along with making pizza, you can buy decorations for your shop and special bonuses to help you out. It is a fun game to play, and I find it relaxing making the pizzas.
#5 Kinder World
Kinder World is a self-care game where you look after plants. You can set reminders in the game for you to water the plant twice a day. Then you can water the plant with regular water or with enriched water where you do a self-care activity. You choose from 3 activities including doing a breathing exercise for 30 seconds, 1 minute, or 2 minutes, writing a daily gratitude note, or doing an emotional naming exercise where you put colored sand into a clear box with a succulent that represents your current emotion. As you progress in the game, you will unlock more plants to grow as well as different areas of your house that you can decorate. Kinder World is a lovely way to incorporate self-care into your daily routine.
#6 Love & Pies
Love & Pies is a merge game combined with a story. In the game, you help Amelia restore her family’s cafe after it was destroyed by a fire. The first part of the game is fulfilling orders by merging ingredients. Once you fill an order, you earn coins to read the story, which has a diverse cast of characters. Love & Pies releases a new chapter of the story each week and there are also regularly new events. Furthermore, Love & Pies does not have intrusive ads like many other merge games, but you do have the option to watch an ad for an extra reward.
#7 Usagi Shima
If you have played Neko Atsume before where you place objects down and wait for cats to show up, then Usagi Shima is similar, but instead of cats, there are bunnies. In Usagi Shima, you have an island to decorate, and the more you decorate, the more bunnies will appear. When a bunny comes, they will give you a tip in carrots and they will also have a task for you to rub, brush, feed, play hide and seek, or take a picture of them, and completing the task will give you bonus carrots. You can then use the carrots to buy more furniture and decorations. Usagi Shima is more of a passive game, but I like being able to fully decorate the island how I want, and the bunnies are so cute!
#8 Old Friends
In Old Friends, you run a dog sanctuary for senior dogs that is based on the real Old Friends Senior Dog Sanctuary, and the developers of the game use the profits to sponsor dogs at the sanctuary. In the game, you take care of senior dogs by petting them, feeding them, and giving them a toy. You can also dress them up, bake treats, and do live streams with the dogs. As you earn more loyalty with the dogs, you learn more about them and unlock more stories and dogs to take care of. You can also decorate the sanctuary, craft furniture, and complete quests to earn furniture, clothing, and coins. Old Friends is such a sweet game, and I highly recommend it.
#9 Pokemon Cafe Remix
In Pokemon Cafe Remix, you run a cafe with Pokemon staff. You fill orders for the Pokemon who visit by completing puzzles where you connect as many of the same images as you can. Each level will have an objective for you to complete. You also have tasks to complete and new areas and upgrades to unlock. My daughter especially loves playing this game, and it is more of a chill cozy puzzle game.
#10 Pokemon Go
In Pokemon Go, you catch Pokemon in your area, and the game encourages you to go outdoors and find new Pokemon. As you walk around, you have a Pokemon buddy that will be with you, and you can catch Pokemon, find Pokestops, join gyms, and battle Team Rocket. There are regularly new quests and events to complete to earn extra rewards, and it is a fun game to play.
