All of the experts agree that memes have a negative aspect. Particularly those that are delivered in a snide manner, people are prone to misinterpreting them. They can also be used as a weapon to harm or degrade someone, just like diss recordings can.

They have the capacity to affect and even modify the behavior of an individual, according to Dr. Nicholas Flann, a professor of computer science at Utah State University. There is also a considerable role played by the current status of technology breakthroughs.

According to an interview that Dr. Flann gave to Utah State Magazine, "Memes thrive due to the fact that we have the internet and because we have advanced artificial intelligence (AI)."
