We always receive new sneakers and shoes, but what should we do with the old ones? You may transform them into something incredible, or we could toss them aside and place them in a donation box! Ten possibilities for doing the latter are provided below.
Planters
Making a planter out of an old shoe doesn’t need much work, however, I do advise planting the plant inside a pot as opposed to straight into the shoe.
Bird House
Old shoes, especially boots, make excellent bird feeders as long as you fill them with twigs and other materials to prevent the fledgling bird from being too far away. You might want to give them a little cleaning before nailing them to a tree because they are probably a little smelly.
Garden Art
You might wish to transform some old Wellington boots, sometimes known as gumboots, into this adorable rubber boot puppy. It doesn’t seem all that difficult, and at least shaping the rubber isn’t that difficult.
Garden Edging
Similar to this planter idea, except this time, many of them are also used to create garden edging. It may seem strange at first, but I think it works in a way.
Art Sculpture
I don’t keep all of my high heels, but if you feel like breaking out an old pair, you could always turn them into this gorgeous art sculpture that would look great both indoors and outside.
Foot Stool
Well, even I find this a little strange, but if you can make a point of it, it makes for interesting conversation. It also makes excellent use of an old pair of jeans. You could even sit on it if you made it taller.
Mirror Frame
You could always transform some of your older leather or cowboy boots into this gorgeous mirror frame if you wear them often! It might also simply be turned into a picture frame.
Coat Hanger
You could always use the ones that aren’t broken as coat hangers if you prefer long heels. It’s preferable to have more single or pairs of shoes. This would also look great in a walk-in closet.
Jewellery Organiser
If you like to display your rings and earrings you might want to use an old shoe to do just that. All you need to do is make a soft layered insert for the shoe and you are good to go. The bigger the shoe, the more you can display.
